We’ve reached that time of year again, when winter and spring battle it out and all you want to do is wear dresses without tights and trade the boots in for sandals.
Or maybe that’s just me.
I think of Winter and Spring like this.
Winter is like that ex that you just can’t get rid of. You were excited at first that he was around. I mean, hello, new outfits that include cute hats and scarves and coats.
Today, I ate it in front of the postal museum on Massachusetts Avenue. I was walking along to a happy hour with coworkers when next thing I know, gravity had won and I was on my way down. Surprisingly, no one laughed. I sat on the ground for a while. A few concerned strangers stopped to ask if I was OK.
That was more than six hours ago. My ankle is swollen and hurts like a bitch.

Months ago, I got into a discussion about what privacy means and how (according to this person, anyway), my generation doesn’t value it. We’re all too forthcoming with our lives. We share everything and we’re not paranoid enough.
The point was, he thinks that we’re all going to regret it someday. Don’t we want our lives to be only our own? Don’t we want others to just butt out?

In today’s realm of first world problems, mine is of the typical variety:

But first, an explanation: My first laptop, the laptop that I went off to college with, died at the end of my penultimate semester of school. It let me write a final paper analyzing the “Civil War” musical (oh yes, there is such a thing) before it gave up, bless its little motherboard. It was on its second hard drive in our four years together.
